About the Event
The annual Footprints on our Hearts Walk/5K is an amazing event that brings members of our community and their supporters together to honor the special babies gone too soon. This year's event will be conducted virtually, which we hope will mean even more people can participate.
How will the virtual Footprints on our Hearts Walk/5K work?
Registrants will be given a link to a web page (REGISTRANTS - CHECK YOUR EMAILS, INCLUDING JUNK AND SPAM FOLDERS) where they can check in periodically and see the lead-up to the event in the 3 weeks prior to the premiere of the Remembrance Ceremony program.
On this web page registrants can:
- submit a video of you saying your baby's name
- check in on fundraising progress
- sign up for a time slot to do packet pickup (there will be multiple days/options to do so)
- submit 5K times (if you choose to participate as a 5K runner)
- Link to the Remembrance Ceremony video program when it premieres on Oct. 4
- Link to a walk video showing all of the name signs
Registrants are encouraged to gather with their teams, either in-person or virtually, to watch the Remembrance Ceremony and do a remembrance walk on your own from your home or another location that is special to you. Please take a picture of your walk and post it on our FB page! We want to walk together- no matter the distance that keeps us safely apart at this time.
What will be included in the Remembrance Ceremony?
The Remembrance Ceremony program will include inspirational speeches, poems, a musical performance and a special reading of baby's names by the people who love them. Along with some special items, registrants will receive a t-shirt with the option to include their special baby's name (if registered by the 9/9 deadline), and a printed program (one per address).
We are working hard to make our 2020 walk a special time to remember our babies. We look forward to "seeing" you there!
What time will the Remembrance Ceremony program premiere?
10AM on Sunday, October 4. Registrants can log on to the event web page any time after that to view the Remembrance Ceremony and Walk.
